Can you fit a tyre if I have no spare near J2 Coventry on the M6?

Leave at the next exit if you safely can, then call us to supply and fit a replacement or recover you.

Treat it as a warning that something is wrong. A slow puncture can become a blowout at M6 speeds. Ease off, leave at the next exit if you can do so safely and check the tyre. If it is going down, do not carry on, get somewhere safe and call us.
What is the legal tyre tread depth for driving the M6?
The legal minimum is 1.6mm across the central three-quarters of the tread and around the whole circumference, the same limit anywhere in the UK. Below that you risk a fine and penalty points for each illegal tyre, and grip and wet braking fall away long before you reach the limit.
