That roundabout is due to change, Haringey Council has proposed a zebra crossing first and a signalised junction after that, but as things stand it is still a roundabout and still a tight one. A breakdown on Tottenham Lane, particularly anywhere near Topsfield Parade, sits in a genuine pinch point, so if you can get the car fully off the carriageway, even into a side road like Ferme Park Road itself, that is safer than waiting on the narrow section with vehicles either side of you.

Crouch End town centre has no off-street public car park, so on-street space is already tight before anything goes wrong. The area sits inside two adjoining controlled parking zones, Crouch End A, enforced Monday to Friday 10am to 12 noon, and Crouch End B, enforced Monday to Friday 2pm to 4pm.
